Hi, I am confused as to what to do. I started using the One Touch Verio Flex meter yesterday evening(switched over from the Alphatrak). The human meter read 9.7mmol. Does this mean I have to give insulin? Is that what the Alphatrak2 would have read? I'm out of Alphatrak tests trips to compare it. But how do I go about using the human meter. I don't want to give insulin if it reads 9.7 but really it's 7 mmol on the Alphatrak. I don't shoot until he's above 9/10 on normal occasion. What should I do? Can the human meter be trusted.

The human meter reads lower than the AlphaTrak. And it can very much be trusted. A lot of us use human meters since the strips are much cheaper than that of the Alphatrak.
104 on a human meter is at the upper end of the normal blood sugar range (50-120) for a cat. I would get a test 3 hours from now to see if his numbers come down after eating.
