Finally got my pet meter today. I've been checking Felix's bg levels with human meter up until now. Just now checked his PMPS with both. Human meter showed 141, pet meter-224. Does it sound right? What do I use to continue? which one I should use as my guideline to shoot or not and how much? I'd really appreciate the feedback.

Thanks! It's disappointing, but at least I definitely know how to take care of him now, even if he doesn't go back OTJ (but I sure hope he does!).

I wish I could answer your question about how to proceed given Felix's blood glucose level, but I just don't feel like enough of an expert. I *personally* would be nervous about giving a unit to a kitty whose pre-shot numbers were in the low to mid 100s if I didn't have a lot of past data about his response to insulin--but that doesn't necessarily mean anything for you! You could start a new thread in the Lantus forum and ask for suggestions specifically about his numbers (rather than about comparing meters). When you create the thread, you'll see an option to add a prefix--if you use the question mark one, people will know you have a question, and hopefully one of the more experienced folks will be around to answer.

I'm glad you reduced the dose. Good call. The difference in meters sounds about right. Try to get a curve done this weekend if you can. We really need to see more mid cycle numbers.
, planning to do it in Saturday. Thank you!
