How/when to post?

Tinker's Mom

Member Since 2017
I am not understanding all the posts here. Am I supposed to post if I have a question about the dosing, or just a hi everyone post every day? :cat: and if the latter, in the morning?

Tinker seems to be doing good, still itching a lot though.

Thanks for your patience!

Hi Laura, many of the Lantus users do post every day. You can use the title to report the date/AMPS BG and subsequent tests for the day (the +hour tests), PMPS etc.
You can add a message, a question or just how Tinker is doing.

Hi Laura!

Definitely post if you have questions. Most of us post every day! If you have a question there is a prefix drop down menu that you can use where you can label your post title with a question mark. That will give it more attention. When you post, always provide a link to your previous post. This allows members who want to provide feedback easy access to Tinker’s history so they can give you valuable help :)

You can post daily if you want, if you only want to post when you have questions that’s ok too. Try to create only one post a day since it’s a busy forum, make your title in the following general format:

Date, Cat’s Name, AMPS value, additional testing values during the day, PMPS value additional testing values at night

Additional testing values are good to add to the title if you have them because experienced members may be able to notice if Tinker has entered a dangerous situation that needs action, or may be able to provide feedback on dosage amounts.

You can edit the title with updates on your latest tests as the day goes by or add a question to the title if you end up with a question by the end of the day. For example you could start with this:

09/29 Tinker AMPS 300

And end up by the end of the day having a title like this:

? 09/29 Tinker AMPS 300 +1 280 +4 200 Should I change dose?

It doesn’t really matter if you post in the morning or evening but there are usually more members on in the morning so it is a good time to post if you want an answer to a question quickly.

Interesting about Tinkers itching. Mowgli doesn’t get itchy but he does twitch from time to time and I am sure it’s from Lantus. It doesn’t seem to bother him.

It will be awesome to see you posting more often and get to know you and Tinker.

Hope you’ve had a great weekend :)

That is soooooo helpful! I didn't realize you could edit the subject throughout the day. Thanks!!!!

Laura
Glad you find it helpful! Let me know if you have any problems linking or editing and I can try and get more straightforward directions for you :)

Welcome! Here’s a post on Making the Most of your experience here which will also tell you about posting.

Posting daily allows us to be more help. We might spot something that you won’t, at first :)

Not only does posting every day let us follow your cat's progress, it's a way for us to get to know you, too. This particular board can be as social as you want it to be. The more you post in your condo (we all a thread a condo) and in other member's condos, the ore you read and get familiar with how to manage Tinker's FD. The more you post in other member's condos, the more they will visit you and Tinker. The "traffic" in a condo also means more eyes are observing and if something seems amiss, it's more likely to be noticed or more people may see something familiar in your spreadsheet or questions and provide input.

Hi Laura and welcome to you and Tinker!

How often you post is up to you but as others said, it helps for us to know Tinker and we can help answer any of your concerns better.

I found when I first got active in the board , reading others daily condos helped me learn a lot.

What’s the itching about? Have you inspected for fleas?
