We took Moxie to the vet this morning BC she has been sneezing like crazy, nose is stuffy too. We got abx for that. However, she has lost over a pound since June 25. The vet did blood work to check her thyroid. Waiting on those results. She also has a heart murmur. That was never detected before. And her left kidney is noticeably larger than her right. Idk what all this means, but she isn't looking good. Or acting like she feels OK. She hasn't groomed herself in a bit. She is lethargic and never plays.
One of the vet techs that works at our vets office offered to come to our house to feed Moxie and give her meds. So, between her and my mom, the cats will be taken care of. Whewww.
I started Moxie on 2.25u this morning. I'm hoping something starts looking up for her soon. I know she doesn't feel well. Makes me so sad! Anyone else have a kitty w thyroid issues? Do they just take a med to regulate it?

Hope Moxie gets over her cold? soon :bighug:. If she's lost over a pound in a couple weeks, I'm guessing they're talking about Hyperthyroidism? I am pretty sure there are a couple kitties with both FD and HyperT on the forum. I did have a cat with just HyperT and he was put on medication, Felimazole. He just got meds for over 2 years and food whenever he wanted more. He seemed to do well on it so I didn't research it heavily. Was a happy, spoiled kitty until his last couple days. My Aunt's GA sugar kitty was both but she kind of had blind faith in her Vet and didn't home test.

See if you can edit your title of the thread to add "How to manage FD and HyperT" :bighug:
