How quickly can i raise tapapzole?

got her t4 rechecked. 7.1. she's been on tapazole for about a year. she
was on 2.25mg am and then pm. three and ahalf months ago her t4 was
between one and two. just got it checked yesterday and it was 7.1. vet
said to double dose so he meant for me to go from giving 4.5 mg per day
(divided into half am and pm) to 9 mg per day diveded into half (4.5 mg am
and 4.5 mg pm). i do not want to increase it this fast. what is
recommended increase. is there a max amount you can increase? he bw
looks pretty normal. liver is up a little bit. not too bad. i do need to
increase tapazole but need to konw by how much. shes on the transdermal
kind. thannk you.

With your T4 values I would have no trouble raising the dose from 2.25 bid to 4.5 bid. My Bailey started on 2.5 MG SID and then went to 2.5 MG BID. Now he is on 6.25 mg bid. His last T4 was 2.1 down from 2.9. The 2.9 was on 5 mg BID.
