Hi... My Theo has been faithfully eating the DM Savory selects dietetic canned food since his diagnosis in January 2019 (he get the DM kibble as a treat). He will not eat the pate style of this food (or any pate). However, for some reason he will not even touch certain batches of the food... we have not been able to figure out what the difference is by looking at the batch numbers. .... last week we tried 4 different cases!! The company is trying to help us figure this out since the formulation has not changed since 2012. Luckily the vet takes returns on the cans, but I end up wasting at least 2 cans/case. Even adding tuna to the mix does not entice him to eat those cans.... he won't even take a bite!

Luckily he will eat the Fancy Feast Fish and Shrimp (flaked) food. However, these cans are approx 1/2 the size of the normal food and he would eat 2 cans/day (one with each insulin dose). Question, do I give him 2 cans of the Fancy Feast variety at each meal? He has lost some weight and we don't want him to loose any more.
I'm down to one can of the food he will ear, so will have to feed him the Fancy Feast until we find a batch he will eat.
Thanks for any advice...

Theo BGs are still high so I would try 1 1/2 cans twice a day and see how his weight does. Then increase/decrease as necessary. As you get Theo's BG down the amount of food required to maintain weight should decrease.
