How low is too low for shooting?

I've been shooting low for a few cycles now, but I was just wondering what the cut off point might be. Anywhere below 100? I've given a shot at 151 but skipped at 122. I can't stick around to monitor after the morning shot because of work. Currently giving 1 unit.

It depends on your availability, the cat, your insulin, and your data.

With Lantus, lots of midcycle data to show it is safe, and a somewhat predictable cat, if you're around you may shoot low to stay low. You don't do that, however, until you are able to show it is safe.

You might take the weekend to try shooting lower; post over in Lantus as those are the folks who do this the most.

Depends.
I regularly shoot Tiggy anything over 50 and rising noticeably (over 20% meter error) without food influence.
If he is around 50-75 I tend to stall 30 minutes (no food no shot) to check he is rising before I give him the shot.
Sometimes I test an hour before preshot (esp when he is coming down from a bounce) so I know what his BG is doing when I see the preshot test an hour later.. and if its rising .. i shoot.
I wouldnt be keen to shoot him under 100 unless I can be around to test.. or in some cases I will shoot a reduced dose like 1/2 a normal dose.

Your current no shot number is what... 150? Maybe next time shoot anything above 125 if you get some tests in afterward and see where that takes him so you have the data. Then reduce the no shoot number and repeat.
