Lily's been on Lantus for a little over three weeks, and for the most part her numbers are staying in the 200s and 100s. But I haven't noticed a decrease in her amount of pee. How long til I can expect her peeing to decrease? Or will that not happen unless the numbers get even lower?

I wouldn't be so sure that Lily is staying in the 200s and 100s. You need to test her sugar before each shot AND at least one other time per cycle ideally. In addition to that, try and carve out a few days where you can be home to test once every 2 - 3 hours through out the day until her PM shot. With sporadic testing like your spreadsheet shows its hard to tell how the insulin is affecting her...she may be higher or lower than you think.

We noticed a decrease in Kazi's drinking/urination once she got closer to normal non-diabetic numbers. Once she was peaking at around 200 or less her drinking went down and as a result her urine output went down then as well.

You may be ready to go over to one of the Lantus forums.

You've done the diet change to low carb canned and you've got a spreadsheet up.

Now comes good data collection to guide your dosing and find the optimal amount to help your cat.

LANTUS (GLARGINE) - Tight Regulation
- This protocol is the best chance of getting diet-controlled diabetic. It requires diligent testing.

"RELAXED" LANTUS
- if your schedule or your cat's other health conditions or reaction to Lantus don't work well with the tight regulation protocol.

Lots of good information about Lantus you can read in them too, as well as feedback from experienced users.

Note: complications from diabetes can include renal disease, and other health conditions may generate heavy urine output such as hyperthyroidism.
