How long can you keep ProZinc

I was just wondering how long Pro Zinc lasts after.open I Nguyen???Petunia only gets 13/4 units twice per day so a bottle lasts around 2 1/2 montaAAhs or so.Did a curve today and her numbers were flat.Started at 321 then +2@287. +4@285. +6@308 +8@295 +10@358 +12@431 .We just fed her and gave her a normal dose.Didn't want to over do it by increasing.

About 6 months seems to be the maximum.

I actually had a bottle last a year...but Cass was going OTJ towards the end.

I spoke to the Vets office today and they said not much longer than 30 days.I don't know who to believe anymore.

I've looked for quite some time for an "official" answer in the Stickys and haven't found one for you yet

We're on Lantus and as long as it's handled correctly, I can get 6 months...sometimes a little more

Generally, what we recommend is to watch the numbers (this doesn't matter which insulin you're using)....if they're starting to drift up and there's no other possible reason, it's time to consider that the insulin has lost it's punch
