How do I feed with a syringe?

I have this sick cat, Akbah, who is finally at the point where he can hold his head up and open his eyes, walks back to his 'spot' if you move him out of it.
He hasn't eaten or drunk in 19 hours. I am just back from the chemist with a new syringe but he doesn't like it.
Techniques?
 
With Musette I wrapped her in a big beach towel and turned her into a kitty burrito, then I pureed her canned cat food with water to make it like a thin milkshake. sucked that up in the syringe and while holding her close to my body so she couldn't struggle, I gently put the tip of the syringe into the corner of her mouth and slowly gave her small amounts of the now liquified food. You want to go slow and only give tiny amounts at a time so he has a chance to swallow what you are giving.

It worked! You are a genius, Momma!!!
I got 10ml of delicius fish puree into him. Most of the 10ml went into the cat, I think.
I'll give him a chance to think about that, and come back later with more.

Glad you got some food into him, keep trying to offer him food in his dish as well. it took Musette a couple of syringe feedings before she decided that she would rather do it herself because mom was making her too dirty...lol
