How do I change the dose time on Vetsulin?

I need to move Timmy's dose time up two hours. We were dosing 9/9 with at least a +2 test after each. We had to dose two hours late a few days ago, unavoidable, but now the dose time is a problem. We just had a hypo event yesterday so I am afraid to move too much on my own right now without guidance. I know I have seen this discussed, but I can't seem to find it now.

Pretty sure you don't have to worry too much about doing a gradual switch of dose times with Vetsulin-- it's an "in and out" insulin, so if you move the shot earlier you just want to be sure the previous shot is out of the system. Given that he's spent the day in pinks and you gave a reduced shot this morning, I think it might even be fine to just go back to your regular time in one shot, though as usual I defer to any experienced Vetsulin users who might disagree with me on this. If you are nervous about doing it in one step, maybe an hour earlier on tonight's shot and the second hour tomorrow, whenever works for your schedule and depending on his numbers.

Some of the earlier, more complicated, discussions may have come about because the people commenting had used Lantus or another "depot" insulin-- those are much less forgiving about changing times and have to be moved very carefully, 15 minutes per cycle.

I do recall moving in 15 minute increments, not realizing it only applied to the depot insulins. I'm thinking moving up an hour at a time just to be safe. That will also give the Vetsulin users time to weigh in on this move as well. There is so much to know and my confidence is not where it was before the hypo. When Teasel was on ProZinc I bumped his time by a whole hour a couple of times with no ill effects.

I had to move Maury's time for an appointment I had last week. He is on prozinc and I did 30 - 45 min increments and didn't seem to impact him. My aunt's kitty is on lantus and she moves his times by 15 min increments. Hope that helps.
