Brioche’s Libre fell off and I have decided that it is too expensive to keep attempting. I ran out last night and got a relion glucometer. I finally got him to cooperate but I’m not sure how often I should be checking his BG levels.

please let me know if the way Im making new threads is weird, I’m just trying to keep everything organized ish.

You want to check before every shot. You should also take a few readings between shots to determine how low his glucose levels drop between doses.

Switching to Prozinc is a very good idea as Vetsulin works fir some dogs but not recommended for cats. Have you looked at the sticky fur Vetsulin on that forum? Note er have been a user I won’t comment on how often to test but the sticky will help you. Use your Libre results from tge pastto guide you.

The minimum number of tests is 4 -- a test at both pre-shot times and at least one test during both the AM and PM cycles. That said, members really vary with how often they test. Elise tested fairly often and I was a confirmed testaholic. I tested often because Gabby was prone to early, fast drops. A great deal depends on your cat and your comfort level. I like having data.

It gets easier with time & treats. I tell him come on it's test time & he comes running & lays down in his chewy box & let's me test him. I give him & my other boy boiled chicken that I cook & cut it up & put in Tupperware bowls & freeze & pull them out as needed.

That’s a great treat idea, I’ve been trying to find more diet friendly options for him. He’s definitely started to tolerate it a lot more already but I know he doesn’t enjoy it. I’m glad it gets easier with time, makes it feel less discouraging.

How did you change the name of your spreadsheet link? I can’t seem to figure it out.
