Homemade Raw Food, which grinder is best? Tasin or STX 3000?

Re: Homemade Raw Food, which grinder is best? Tasin or STX 3

I have the Tasin. I never shopped around for a grinder or I would have purchased something cheaper. If the one on Ebay - has good reviews and can grind bone - then get it.

I always chop the meat and bone with a hatchet knife before putting into grinder to "pre-grind" and not overtax the grinder.

The only things I don't like about the Tasin:

- Stuff builds up in the grinder mechanisms and slows it down. It needs to be cleaned out a couple times
- the extruding piece that makes it come out ground (it's circular pieces with lots of holes) the holes get clogged and the only way to clean it out is with toothpicks or something similar to poke into each hole.

If the other grinder doesn't do that - another reason to get the other one

Oh and NOTHING goes into the dishwasher - everything MUST be hand washed.

ACtually just looked at it and it looks to be exactly the same as the Tasin - just the on/off buttons are different.

Personally, I say buy the cheaper one. Just remember to hand wash everything.

I use the Tasin - no problems. I purchased the little brushes with it to clean the plate holes. I also purchased the sanitizer and lubricant spray. I am told that it can last a long time if you take care of it.

Thanks, guys. I actually ended up just getting the Tasin last night. I think it has metal gears, and I think the eBay one has plastic.
