Are you offering a treat after each try? Even when you fail give her a treat. The whole thing hinges on association a small prick gives nummy rewards. I know its hard especially at first. We have all been there. My stress level was through the roof and I had HELP.Day 2 of blood testing: after three sessions last night, this morning’s was the hardest. Could not prick her deep enough to get a bead of blood and tried four times with four test strips wasted. I have to do this again in 2 hours.
I’m bringing her into the bedroom where I have a Feliway diffuser to get her to comply. She seems to be ok until she feels the needle prick and then she struggles.
This is beyond stressful. I don’t know how you all have done it!
I bought her the yummiest Pure Bites freeze dried treats that even I would eat in a pinch. Tuna, chicken, salmon—she turned up her nose at all of it. Not very treat oriented. Will try Greenies next! Are you offering a treat after each try? Even when you fail give her a treat. The whole thing hinges on association a small prick gives nummy rewards. The important thing is you keep trying.Defeat is not in your vocabulary. YOU CAN DO THIS.

Am doing the rice in a sock technique now for her +2. She seems to like it.
Little but doesn’t care for the pure bites, either, unfortunately. ETA—he choked on one of the pure bites (liver flavor), too, so I won’t buy them anymore. Some folks say they moisten them and I tried that with the shrimp broken up into small pieces and he wouldn’t touch them. Thank you. She refused the Greenies as well even though she used to gobble them up when she was smaller! The Souprise broth is working well.Hi I found this question asked on the Chewy site
Looks like they are really high in carbs
This was for the Greenies Oven Roasted Chicken Flavor Adult Dental Cat Treats
Can you tell me the carb count? My cats go nuts for these, which they don't do for any other food product! However, they're probably high in carbs plus they swallow them while in their enthusiasm! Lol
The treats have a carbohydrate content of 36.8% on an As Fed basis and 38.86% on a Dry Matter basis.

THANK YOU, MOGS! I've been moving her shot around, so this morning I did the space between her spine and her right thigh where there's a lot of skin and easy for me to tent. I read somewhere that the insulin absorbs more quickly around her shoulders than down near her tail. Not sure if that might be why?Had a look at Ruby's spreadsheet. Some cycles are flatter than others. Influencing factors include:
1. Bouncing from a safe number that's lower than a kitty has seen for a while (body needs time to relearn what is an OK BG level).
2. How well the dose was absorbed (varies).
As you accumulate more BG readings in Ruby's spreadsheet you'll start getting a better feel for her individual response to Lantus.

Oh my gosh Little Bit would go nuts for that! What a great idea.I'm the beginning I used boars head cold cuts as a testing treat.
Cold cuts are high in sodium.... But a bite of two won't hurt.Oh my gosh Little Bit would go nuts for that! What a great idea.
