figured i'd post here too in case some of you aren't in the feline diabetes group on facebook & didn't see my post there. everyone in feline diabetes fb group suggested that i decrease the prozinc insulin to 1 unit, twice daily while i was on vacation & boarding my cat for 1 week since he wouldn't be monitored overnight or tested. well, i've been home & he has been back on regular dose of 1.5 units twice daily, for 1 week now. he's vomiting once just about everyday & crying for food more often, so i'm sure his BG is high. he's very thin, so maybe the vet techs didn't get all the shots in while boarding. i always check his fur to make sure it's not wet after his shot, but they probably didn't. i ran out of testing supplies that i was borrowing, so new stuff will be here on saturday. i hate this. i feel like we are worse off now than before. he was regulated at 1.5 units. i'm really hoping i don't have to increase to 2 units. i will test him as soon as supplies get here, but do you think he just needs more time to get readjusted again?

You might see if using the Secondary Monitoring Tools in my signature, and the tracking grid linked in that, give you some idea of what is happening. They aren't as precise as blood glucose test, but can help you make a decision about what you want to do.

We have some guidelines for using ProZinc here.
