Maybe I'm missing the answer to this question somewhere on this forum, but I'm somewhat confused about results of testing a cat's BG with a human glucometer. If I use a Relion micro, what should a regulated cat's reading be? On the blood testing videos I watched, people were getting readings of 60-99 with their cats, yet when I look at tables for what a regulated cat's BG levels should be, the numbers are more like 120-220. What am I misinterpreting here? I really want to start home testing on my cat, Sunnie, since going to the vet so often really stresses him. Thanks for any guidance you can give.

The BGs of an non diabetic cats are typically 5 to 120.
A well control diabetic cats should have BGs no higher than about 220 and not lower than about 70. Some cartakes can with insulin maintain a cat's BG in the normal range.

Note that the estimates for the AlphaTrak are just that - estimates. At the high end, it really doesn't matter - high is high and you want to take action to manage the problem.

Just as a clarification, I think Larry meant to say 50 to 120, not 5 to 120.....
