not sure if I should go up in his dose or if he's getting too much and should I go back to .5?? Is he bouncing? He seems like he was doing great after the .7 and then he started going up again! I can monitor tonight if I have to up the dose.

I raised it to .9 not quite a unit and I will monitor.
At this point, Dana, that's about all you can do - and perhaps this little bump upward of the dose will help get those pre-shot numbers to come down.
Are you using U100 syringes now? (Sorry, I just can't remember whether you'd switched over already.)

Hope this dose gives you some nice blue surfing Dana! Wierd that his numbers have been up the last 2 days, has anything changed

He could be bouncing, but I don't know. Yesterday's numbers indicate that he surfed...unlikely he dropped low after that +6 reading. I agree with Robin, a bump up is the best option and we'll go from there. I know it's frustrating, but you're doing a great job!!

No I I'm still using the U40's. I need to get the other ones I guess.
Dana, you'll find it a LOT easier to use U100s marked on the half-unit - must use the conversion chart, though. I think I may have sent you that several days back, but here's the link: http://www.felinediabetes.com/insulin-conversions.htm

I found it way too hard to eyeball things like a 0.75u dose, etc. using the U40 syringes. So switching over to the other type will really help you with consistency in fine-tuning these smaller doses for Mr. H.;)

So sorry Dana that I wasn't around!
But I just looked at Hitchcocks sheet and he's dropping into yellow #, that's really good Dana!
I think the 0.9 was a good shot.
But like Robin said, the u100 syringes are really great to handle in does kinda doses!
U40 gives you a limit in dosing (I find in my experiece) :banghead:
Well Dana, you are doing a great job with Hichcock!
I will try to be around at AMPS!
