Higher b/g levels after starting insulin?

Since starting Marbles on insulin I've been getting higher b/g numbers at her pre-shot tests than I got when she wasn't even on insulin. Her spreadsheet is in my signature. Is this normal for her to bounce around and even go higher at first? I don't have a lot of mid shot data right now, but I hope to get more this weekend to figure out what her low number is during the day.

Her b/g level was the highest ever this morning at 370. I increased her dose from .4 to .5 this morning but was afraid to do anything more as I will be at work all day so I can't check her until +8. I'm worried that the insulin is just making her worse. :-(

I like your .5 today. You got a nice cycle with one unit and then .5 following that. I'd see what today looks like - especially the nadir .

It is very early into this sugar dance. It takes awhile for their bodies to adjust to the diet and insulin. Pretty soon we'll be able to look at her spreadsheet and see some patterns and adjust accordingly.

I did get a nice cycle with the 1.0 unit but she was acting kind of weird that night and wouldn't eat the next day (when I gave her .5). I feel like she probably needs to be closer to that 1.0 mark based on the higher readings I've been getting lately, but I have been scared to increase her too fast since I've had to work during the week. I'm thinking about doing .6 or .8 tonight since I am here to monitor her all night and all weekend, but I don't want to increase her too fast either.

Any suggestions on dosage?

Thanks!

.5 didn't turn out to be too bad. There might have been a blue in the 5-7 range. Your choice. .6 should be okay. Maybe get a before bed test to be sure she isn't dropping.
