High numbers....still!!!!!!!

I've also posted this in General Health...For a short period of time it seemed like we were making progress with Chocolate but now her numbers either barely drop or even get a little higher between shots. I've been feeding Wellness and Merrick low carb wets but she didn't seem to eat all the Wellness when it was out so I've been trying with the Merrick because she tends to eat all of it. I give her about 1/3 to 1/2 of a 5.5 oz can each feeding (4x a day) because ya'll have said when they're not regulated they should eat all they can because their bodies waste the food..(right?)...So anyway...now we're stuck here with these high numbers. Is a higher dose needed? Or could this be some sort of rebound? This is so frustrating!! I've also been testing for ketones almost daily so we're good in that department. Could the insulin be crapped out and I need a new bottle? Could where I'm shooting not be getting into her for some reason?

Christina,
I answered in Health, but I am hoping some of the PZIers who have recently seen a decent drop in numbers after changing injection sites will chime in here when they see this.

We're gonna figure Chocolate out!

Hi christina,
It is hard to say, I was just looking at your spreadsheet , but I am going to say
try upping her today. I dont know when you shoot but I think I would up to maybe .6
if you can and see where that takes you. I see that the one unit at one point brought you
down in the 30's so we can try upping her slowly
Is there any change that the inverse curve day could have been a fur shot?
I am kinda thinking that cause it was only one day that you had that....
I dont think that the bottle has pooped I am thinking you might have to start raising
Please let us know how you do

Denise and Shakes

I was wondering about a fur shot also. Agreed with Denise - I would raise it to .5 or .6 and be sure you get a nadir. It is difficult when you get higher numbers, but you are still below one unit of insulin which is a tiny amount, so you have a kitty who has responded well to insulin.

A fur shot could very well have been possible. It was pretty easy to tell a fur shot with Humulin because the smell is so potent but ProZinc has no smell so you can't tell. I've kept her at .4 because I'm going to shoot in the other suggested places and not the scruff anymore because it was hard to get the needle in there sometimes so maybe there were problems with insulin absorption because of that. I will try the other spots and see if there's any changes. If not, I will up her to .5 or .6. Thanks all :)
