Highest number ever 582 this morning. Threw up a small hairball the size of a quarter at 4:30 EST and then his stomach was making loud squeaking noise. Just test and really high. Checked the LB and diarrhea. Can the diarrhea cause the numbers to jump like this? His 2 cycles before had been much lower.

Goof seems to be the exception to almost every rule concerning the diabetes. He's so hungry all the time, it stresses him out so much that after I feed him, he'll actually drop a little. When he was still on ProZinc, he only needed one shot per day for quite a while. Then, just like that, he went OTJ. This diabetes thing is enough to drive a person nuts sometimes!

Oh Bobbie, and he's been looking so good. Could it be a combo of bounce and not feeling well? Hope it's just a temporary upset tummy and the diarrhea clears quickly. Has he been going outside?

You can say that again. He had a great cycle the night before last, he hit the greens and now to be in the black! That must feel horrible. Needless to say, he is grounded today, he actually wanted to go outside but momma says "NO"!

He had been outside for a few hours last night. And he seemed fine all night until the small hairball this morning at 4:30 am. Then the squeaky gurgling noises! The only time I experienced something like that was when my dog had gastritis and she made those noises. I had to start feeding her several smaller meals and gave her Pepcid for a while. I might give him a 1/4 of one today. Geez.......I was thinking things were moving in the right direction and then BAM !

I just looked at his SS, looks like things are improving. I wonder if he didn't find something to eat outside that REALLY didn't agree with him.

Oh Bobbie, I'm so sorry Bubba is feeling under the weather! I agree, he possibly ate something while he was outside that really didn't sit well on his tummy, and I also definitely suspect your seeing some bounce with that number. Perfect combination to make his BG rise! I would check him again, like Mogmom said, then again in maybe 2-3 hours and see where his BG is then. Poor Bubba! And poor you, too, I know what it's like to be going along really well with good #s and then have a high # jump up and smack you in the face, not to mention being worried about his tummy!

Hugs and scritches! :bighug::bighug::bighug: :cat: :cat: :cat:

Thanks Lucy! Guess that is in the Feline manual of "Making the Bean Crazy" chapter 2: Smoother sailing, make it rough! HA!
