High amps/pmps since going up a unit

Hi Gabrielle. I definitely understand how frustrating it is to see those higher AMPS and PMPS. I would not have recommended increasing directly from .5 units to 1 unit just yet. The SLGS protocol would have you go from .5 to .75 units. Hopefully you have the U-40 syringes with the half unit markings. You don’t want to go past the best dose. Can you run a curve this weekend where you test every two hours during one of the cycles so we can see what’s going on? And is there any way you could set an alarm to wake up around +6 at night to get a test? I want to make sure he’s not dropping lower at night and having that be the reason for the higher AMPS. It could just be loss of duration of the insulin. What is his feeding schedule? Do you give any food after +5 (either a.m. or p.m. cycle?)
