PMPS 424 fed 1/2 can FF shot 2.5 units
Over 400 for the 2nd day in a row.
Starting to get my goat! cat(2)_steam

Im hoping that its only the pain she is in causing the high numbers or because of needing a dental.
Dental is scheduled for Friday and I hope to see improvement in the limping by then.
Giving her cosequin 1 cap 2 x a day. Put a heating pad in a bed for her and she wont touch it!!

It certainly could partly be the dental and/or because she is in pain. I am wondering what her numbers look like midcycle - she has had some nice blues and greens on 2 units and on 2.25 Could you do a curve - getting numbers every 2/3 hours for a day? That should give us a real direction - whether she is getting too much or too little insulin.

Re: No blood again and again and again .....................

Thanks - Im going to need it!! Dont want to put her through it but I know its for her own good. Its going to hurt me worse than its going to hurt her!
Could not get any blood at +6 and will not be back home until its time to test and shoot again.
I just dont get it! I do the same thing every time! I dont understand why its so hard to do or why I must poke her 6-8 times and then sometimes the blood comes after just 1 stick.
I mean - I do the same thing every time. I warm her ear so long she gets sick of it and then I poke and poke and no blood!
ARGH!!! nailbite_smile

I also just read a few more post before I had to walk out the door and I've discovered that she is "meatloafing" Another sign that she is not feeling well
ARGH ARGH ARGH nailbite_smile

I have no choice but leave for about 4 hours but the dh said he will keep an eye on her.

If you absolutely must get blood, aim for the vein. It is likely to bleed profusely, so be prepared to catch a droplet on your clean fingernail and apply pressure to the puncture with a folded tissue. One good shake of the head and you'll have droplets all over (been there, had that!)
