Here we go again

So we went from none to moderate ketones again.. In one day. And were not eating. Again. Setting up the sub-q for tonight. Allready gave him 30cc's of watered down cat food with his extra vitamins. And gave him his pepcid. Heres hopeing for a flush before we get really bad.

And here I thought we were doing to good. So far kept his numbers in the low 200's with the dose for the week from the vet. I thought we were safe enough so I payed off some bills and now.. blah. I am a bad cat mom.

You're not a bad cat mom, and are doing all you can at home to address the ketones. Perhaps your vet would consider letting you take the sub-q fluids home and give them yourself? Some vets do, some don't...but if you are giving insulin sub-q on the scruff, then giving fluids the same way is pretty easy and a much quicker way to address ketones than having to wait for an appointment with the vet (also costs less...an added bonus!).
