Help with low BG!

Began insulin this morning,
shot for the first time with ProZinc . AMPS 253. shot 1U. Now at +4.25 BG 79. I think with ProZinc the nadir is around 6. She had a seizure last week (Not with insulin---has a brain tumor) so don't want her BG too low. Gave her some food with gravy. Anything else I should do?
 
you are doing great. just keep testing to make sure food is bringing her up. do not over feed. just a little and if ya can, just the gravy part is good so she does not fill up. test every 15 min to half hour til you are sure her numbers are rising and staying there
 
Others should be along shortly but for now keep an eye on her, reread the signs of Hypo, and retest in a little bit to see if the gravy is helping or if she is still dropping. If she continues to drop you may want to rub a little syrup or honey on her gums, to help spike her blood sugar up a little. But remember the sugar will wear off faster than the High carb food so keep checking her until you see those numbers staying up..But right now 79 isn't terrible but she could go lower so time to get a lot of practice with the ear pokes...Oh yeah and remember to Breathe.
