Help with Lantus cost?

I believe at one time there was a 25.00 off coupon in the "supply closet" forum. Maybe that would help you? Also, buying in pen form vs vial form is more costly up front, but in the long run will cost you less, because you throw less away. Sometimes places like the hospital pharmacy or costco, or sams club will sell individual pens as well.

You may also want to consider Levemir insulin, which is very similar to Lantus but lasts longer. It is less fragile, and instead of "28 days", the guarantee is "42 days".

$25 coupon for the SoloStar pens here: http://felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=36964

The pens are more cost effective than the 10 ml bottle. A box contains five 3ml pens which is at least a 5 month supply you will have on hand. The 10 ml bottle might lose effectiveness in as little as a month and you're throwing away the barely used bottle.

Call around to the local pharmacies and ask what they charge for the SoloStar pens and the 10 ml bottle. Some people find that Costco has the lowest price. Or use this to get approximate costs at the local pharmacies and even print out a coupon for Lantus if there is one: http://felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=75339

Some people buy Lantus from online Canadian pharmacies. This thread has more info: http://felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=11530
