Hi everyone!
I haven't been on is so long I had to change username
Anyway, Bubba has been on Lantus for a yr. I normally get the vial. I'm out of a job right now but refuse to switch him. I've read people are able to get single pens.
Does anyone know in NJ where I could purchase? I'm low on his Lantus and I'm in a tizzy. Thanks bunches!

Folks have been successful sometimes at:
Target
Costco
Sam's
Hospital pharmacies
Individual diabetic users with leftover insulin at end of month (craigslist)

I have luck at my local Walmart "Neighborhood Market," which is more like a grocery store than a Walmart. Call around and see who might split a box of pens for you.

I have purchased a single Lantus and single levemir pen from two different Target Pharmacies (with a 'scrip) in my area. Wal-Mart and CVS said no, and I don't have a Costco membership, but I was going to try there next. Unfortunately, I no longer have a need for them. I would give Target a call to see if they sell them that way and what the price is.

If you have leftover insulin you don't need any more, you can always post it in the Supply Closet and see if there are any takers.

The Lev pen was almost done when Cedric died and it had been in use for about a month.
But that is a good idea to pass along to the thread starter! Check that forum to see if you can obtain a pen that way...
