Help!!! what lancet to use

We tried to poke the ear but no blood comes out. We use the one with the cassette but when hubby tried in his finger, it work. Please help how to do it. I'm so nervous!!! :-(

Hey Rosie

The lancets we got with our monitor were 28g and it took time to get good at testing.

Top tips I have

Use a sock with rice in it, zap it for about 15 seconds and use it to warm kitties ear and to poke into (pop it underneath the ear).

Don't use the clicking device, pull the top off and use it like that

And relax. It will take time for you guys to get the hang of it. 3 goes, and then take a break.

Thank you Charlene. Will try again after 3 hours. We just gave him his dose. Yes we used the clicking one. I was so nervous, I started putting all my groceries into the freezer lol

Lol, groceries in the freezer! I got myself all wound up the first couple of times and ended up pricking myself, dropped rice all over the floor, then got a nice bead of blood only to have Java Shake his head and get it all over my face!

Give yourself and kitty a little break, have some cuddles, give him a carb free treat, and give it another go in 15 minutes!

I'm promise you, you will get the hang of this, and so will kitty. Java now hops up to his testing spot randomly throughout the day for a test! He gets a treat afterwards.
