We have had several recent cycles where Flora's BG did not seem to be affected by the insulin. Well, it was this morning. Tested 103 at her normal feeding time. Held off on feeding her and now 120, 20 minutes later. Should I be giving her her insulin?

Did you shoot, or are you still stalling? You can try one more test if you're stalling, but if it were me, at this stage, I'd probably skip.

What may be happening here is that the Lantus depot takes a few cycles to fill up; when you were shooting only once per day it really didn't get a chance, but you just did three cycles in a row of 0.5U, so now the depot is filled and you're able to see what this dose can do!

100 and 120 are quite safe numbers, by the way, and experienced lantus users will shoot such numbers (and lower) all the time. We just don't recommend starting off shooting that low, it takes a little while to learn your kitty's patterns.

Sounds good!

Even though you didn't shoot, I'd get another test or two in if you can today. Just to see what she gets up to, and in case the depot is still working.
