to switch Cedric from Lantus to Levemir. His nadir seems to hit around hour 4 and the insulin wears off before his next shot giving me high numbers. Eating during the day makes it worse. What can I do or tell the doc that he needs to switch? I did post this in Lev but wanted to post here as well. While he had some great numbers Friday, he must have bounced yesterday while I was at work. I expect the same thing today while I am at work as well...

Tell your vet exactly what you have told us here. You have three months of recent test data to show your vet.

Yeah! Hope the Levimir works to get Cedric better regulated. Keep posting over in Relaxed Lantus like you have been. Make a big note on the spreadsheet when you switch.

I think the guideline is to start the Levemir dose ah about 70% of the current Lantus dose.

Yes, BJ, that's what cjleo advised me of the other day (but thanks for the reminder). It would come to about 1.22 of the 1.75 Lantus does he's on, but we are going to drop him to 1 unit of Lev. I gave my shift away on Saturday to attend an event, but will try to be home by noon to check on his numbers. I am off on Memorial Day, so that will be his first curve day. Got the pen and now am off to create a new spread sheet.
