help! just need advice/opinions to increase/decrease dose

Hi! I’m so sorry no one responded to you last night.

The .50 dose has given some green numbers which would indicate to hold this dose. Looks like he is bouncing up after he hits a green. On 2/6 when he got that 51, I would have given a small LC meal since it was almost mid cycle and tested again in 20 -30 minutes to make sure he was safe and had come up some. See how he bounced up to reds that night? Maybe he went even lower.

Are you using a human meter? Could you put in your signature what type meter you are using as that would influence any advice members would give you. With a human meter the reduction point in under 50 and with a pet meter it is 68. If you are following SLGS the reduction point is 90.

During the PM you aren't getting any test in which makes it hard to get the whole picture of what is happening. Is he going under 50 at night then bouncing up the next morning?

It looks like you shoot at 11 pm which makes it really hard to get in test. Would it be possible to change your shot times so that you could get night time testing in too?

Sorry for all the questions, but it will help us to help you.

Aloha!

Filled in more numbers over the last few days. Interestingly, he threw a 90 this morning, so I skipped the shot. Tested again just now at +4 and hes at 198. This after I had increased dosage from 0.5 to .75 after getting a series of high numbers. Any insight would be appreciated.

Using Relion Premier from walmart. Following SLGS guidelines.

Thank you so much for the last response.

Aloha! Thanks for updating your signature. That is very helpful.

With following SLGS you would give a reduction for anything under 90 . He earned that with the 51 on 2/6 and the 71 on 2/7 while he was on the .50 dose. So he really shouldn't have has an increase on the PM cycle of the 9th. When you shoot tonight, I would take his dose to .25 unit And I would strongly suggest you getting some test in during the PM cycle because without that information, you only have 1/2 the story. A lot of kitties go lower at night and then bounce up during the AM cycle. A bounce takes 6 cycles or 3 days to clear. If you know what is happening during the PM, it will make your dosing decision easier.

Would you be able to change your shot times so that getting those PM test would be feasible?
