Thanks. I don’t know for sure what I’m looking for exactly. Just read where it has helped for some. My local vets dont carry it but can order it. Was hoping to find it as an injectable. My baby is having a tough time getting around and want to try and help before it gets worse.Several people here use Zobaline. https://www.amazon.com/ZobalineTM-Diabetic-Cats-60-tabs/dp/B008G3LI2M?tag=felinediabetesfdmb-20
Zobaline crumbles to a powder with just your fingers and has almost no flavor. Just crush it into food.Thanks. I don’t know for sure what I’m looking for exactly. Does it work to reverse the leg weakness??
Thanks Jeff. He is prettt well regulated. I take him in every couple weeks or so to have the glucose curve done. The last which was this week showed his level a little low actually so we’re decreasing the dose a little. Probably need to check into the home testing stuff maybe. Is it difficult to use? Still trying to find the zobaline. Vet is ordering the injectable methylcobalamin hopefully in the meantime.Also....welcome to the forum!
I gave you the link to it on Amazon. Here it is again: https://www.amazon.com/ZobalineTM-Diabetic-Cats-60-tabs/dp/B008G3LI2M?tag=felinediabetesfdmb-20Still trying to find the zobaline.
That’s what I was thinking Jeff. Just didn’t know how much of a pain they were to use. He’s a good boy about letting me do the other stuff to him. I’ll try and find the sub forum you are talking aboutWhy pay to have a vet test him. For a single time purchase - you can get the tester and the strips. That would be the same cost as the vet visit. Plus you would not have the hassle of taking the cat to the vet.
I recommend you look on the Main Health subforum. There are lots of existing discussions of home testing and the types of testers that people bought.
Thanks Mama. I did get the link. I was trying to find local as to get him started on it as soon as possible. He’s not getting around well at all.I gave you the link to it on Amazon. Here it is again: https://www.amazon.com/ZobalineTM-Diabetic-Cats-60-tabs/dp/B008G3LI2M?tag=felinediabetesfdmb-20
About every 2 weeks it seems there is a new thread about test meters. I stopped joining those conversations. But you can look in the main forum and see multiple discussions. Here is one.

There is no 5 minute path to enlightenment. Really, the only way to successfully treat diabetes is to read about it and do home testing. We have lost cats on this forum from people who were not testing, or were hardly doing tests.
The top of the insulin subforums have good sticky posts to read.

I helped write the Prozinc one. But really the insulins all have the same effect of providing body cells the ability to absorb glucose.
Ed how is everything going?Oh I want to learn more but either I’m not very smart or it is all too confusing. Now the vet says they haven’t been able to find the injectable methyl b12 so I will order some of the zobaline in the meantime I guess. Also hoping to zero in on a reliable home testing kit. In the forum I can’t get a read on a good one to try. Good review then bad review on same products. No recommendation from vet.
