Hi all

I know that I saw it here before and someone wrote me a good explanation about it but I really can't find it :banghead:.
About skinny and fat dosing, a also read about giving a drop ..... a need to read about those things

For example I need to put 0,25 of U-40 insuline in a U-100 syringe.
Because for me:
- 0,2 ---- 0,5 in a U100 syringe
- 0,3 ----- 0,5 fat
- 0,4 ----- 1 in a U100 syringe

Thanks for your help :bighug:

I have that chart and I use it. But I want to know about how to put in the syringe those tinny amount of insuline like for example 0,25.

Oh sorry, I wasn't sure you had the conversion chart. For those fine doses that are hard to see, many members get calipers and use those so that the doses are consistent. I suggest you change your title to ask for information on using calipers, or for help eyeballing a 0.25 U dose, or lower.

There are some pictures in the Lantus forum about fine dosing using the U100 syringes, and you can see the 0.25 dose there: http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/...info-proper-handling-drawing-fine-dosing.151/
Just scroll down to the "Pictorial guide using a U-100 syringe marked with half units:" for the pictures.

I didn't go back through all of your posts from the beginning to find out where you are in the world, but it would be very helpful for us to have more information in the signature..particularly since it looks like you are not in the US.

If you could edit and include this information please:
kitty's name/age/date of diabetes diagnosis/insulin you're using and dosage amount /glucose meter you're using/what (s)he eats/any other meds or health issues (s)he has. You can add your name, and a geographic location (sometimes the country/time zone matters) Be sure to SAVE when you are finished.
If you don't have room for geographic info (country) in the signature you can add it into the profile information. If you click on Idjit's picture to the left, you will see a box come up and see that we are "from Eastern Washington State"

It's also possible to create a shorter link to the spreadsheet, freeing up space in the signature. Sometimes those full links to the spreadsheet are long!

This is from the Spreadsheet Instructions (http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/fdmb-spreadsheet-instructions.130337/)
Instructions for pasting the SS link in your FDMB Signature block:

1. Login to FDMB and click on your user name in the upper right corner.

2. Select "signature”. The signature block is limited to three lines. If you have a lot of other information in your signature block, please be sure you place the spreadsheet link so it is easily located by other members (i.e. please don’t stick it at the very end of a long, detailed description of medications).

3. Put your cursor in the text box, type in your kitty’s name with the word “Spreadsheet” (e.g. Furbaby’s Spreadsheet), highlight those words, and then click on the “hyperlink" icon above the text box:

4. A text box will open that states "link"; paste your link into the box next to “URL” and click on “insert”.

5. This should result in the highlighted text turning light blue which means it is now a hyperlink to the spreadsheet and anyone clicking on it can see the spreadsheet.

6. Click "save changes" and you're done!! Great job!!!! If you need any help at all, please send me a private message by clicking on “Marje and Gracie” (to the left under Gracie’s photo) and then “Start a Conversation”. I am more than happy to help you or do the Spreadsheet for you.

Marje and Gracie is on vacation in Scotland right now and won't be able to help if you need it, but Chris & China is available and if you need help doing this, just Start a Conversation with her.

We have had many members from countries all over the world and with some we use the Google Translator. We don't let any language barriers get in the way! And your English seems just fine to me.

OH WHOA! Your ProZinc is U40 and the pictures on the Lantus Board are for U100 insulin so those pics will not show accurate dosing for your insulin in the U100 syringe. I personally think you would be better off getting some calipers and measuring that way using U40 syringes. There is info re: using calipers HERE. The instructions for measuring YOUR syringes would apply the same but DO NOT use the measurements quoted in this document as the volume and concentration of the Lantus referred to is different from your ProZinc.

Linda, she posted "For example I need to put 0,25 of U-40 insuline in a U-100 syringe." at the top. Did I give inaccurate information? I provided the conversion chart, and on second thought, you are entirely correct. I did goof big time. Oh crap! Sorry sorry @Bobi

No worries. You didn't cause any problem other than the dose would be less than wanted if the pics in the Lantus docs are used as a guide. Not a danger to Bobi ....just the potential to possibly hold up progress a bit. :)

Oh I can't tell you how glad I am to read this, I wouldn't want the dose to be too much and hurt any kitty. Shutting my mouth and going back in the corner though.

No problem ;);)
I just wanted to learn how to measure in the syringe. I know that I need to use the chart because I'm using a U40 insuline in a U100 insuline.
BTW I gave him 0,2U which is easy in my U100 syringe and the had great number this morning. So I don't think that I will change that.

Thanks girls - great informations from you both :bighug:
Bobi is sending nose kisses :kiss:

You did not nothing wrong @Idjit's mom - because I understood what was your intention - teaching me how to measure in the syringe. So please don't go back to any corner hehehe TY

Love nose kisses. Smoochies back to the soft fellow.

I really am sorry about the mixup..I should keep to the limits of what I'm sure I know, and obviously this isn't among them. Learning all the time too!
