I'm a complete idiot! My alarm never went off and I'm now 3 hrs late from schedule.

He's on Lantus. I cant keep the schedule of poking him this late unless I can give it to him earlier tomorrow. The latest I can do is give it to him 7 am to tomorrow. It's 9 am now.

Can I fix this?

With Lantus because it is a depot insulin, an early shot acts like a dose increase. Normally we say you can adjust the shot schedule by 15 every cycle or by 30 minutes once per day. I would not shoot 2 hours early tomorrow morning. I would post this question in the Lantus forum.

With 3 hours late and since you can't shoot 3 hours late tomorrow probably you will have to skip this shoot and shoot at your regular schedule tonignt, if you shoot right now you will have to shoot at 9 pm tonight and the earliest you can shoot tomorrow would be 8:30 am

I ended up skipping the dose. I'm still checking him, he's in the pinks, but so far nothing major high*

I'm really just pissed off that I made such a mistake so early in the stage.

So I never posted this reply earlier. Oops.

So it's now 6 and I'm so relieved that he is actually lower than he was this morning.

I totally goofed, but I now feel more than ever that switching insulins was the correct way to go. In the past if I had to skip a shot become he was lower he's been in the high pinks, reds and even blacks. He is not nearly as far off that I thought he would have been.
