Thank goodness for no ketones!:bighug: Is he eating well?

Since you didn't give a shot this AM, feel free to give his PMPS shot at a time of your convenience.

The next time Bam gives you a low preshot, try stalling. That means, do NOT give food and wait 30 minutes. See if he comes up to a number you feel comfortable shooting. Looks like he might have been on his way up from later tests today.

Hi, yes he eats well. He would eat all the time if he could. I will try stalling if it happens again. I'm going to test again in about 1/2 an hour. If I give him his PMPS shot early, will it mess up his usual schedule? Would I still give his AMPS at normal time? Thanks.

Your AMPS shot can be early, as long as it's at least 12 hours after you give the PMPS shot. Or you can go back to your regular AMPS which will make a longer cycle. His numbers will be a bit whacky for a few cycles, but he will get back on track.

I just tested again and he has gone down to 4:30. I think I will test again in an hour and then decide to shoot or wait until normal PMPS time (which is 2 hours from now).
Just another question because this is all new to me - what would I do if his numbers ever got up to the 500 range? What's the highest it could go? Thank you for all your help.

I meant to say 430.

Not much you can do if they go really high. It won't last long. Once he's back on insulin his numbers will come down. At some point, meters stop registering (over 600). Neko gave me a few "Hi" numbers in the beginning. She got over it.

Good to know. Thanks.
