Help? 258 AMPS - Do I shoot? 1/2 dose?

Leko didn't eat much at all last night. Just got 258 PS and he hasn't eaten for 3 hours. I can't hang around to see what happens.

Would you shoot, cut the dose to .25, or skip?

I'm going to test again and probably give a .25 unless somebody replies...

I can't advice you. I use Lantus and have Simba on a very tight control and shoot at odd numbers no one else would dare to shoot. And mind you, I can do that because Simba eats properly every day, and is on 2 U Lantus twice a day. In my opinion I don't think .25 is a lot of insulin. What insulin are you using?

He hasn't been dropping very much so you're probably OK with the 0.5 units.

If you leave some extra food out for him to eat as needed, he may be fine with that. When the insulin kicks in, usually the appetite does too.

Based on his AM ss numbers, it seems like he drops about 200pts from AMPS to nadir. Probably not super risky, but I knew I wouldn't be around for it if it went any further.

I did .25 to keep it on the safe side. I feel like it was a little paranoid. Sigh.

This really drives home BJM's point about getting him to eat consistently. I think he's boycotting this flavor. Restocking tonight.
