Hello,

My name is Bob, two cats Boo and Patches.

Patches is a 15 year old calico I recently adopted due to deceased former owner. Relatively good health.

Boo is 12 year old tabby. He is the diabetic. He is my second diabetic, diagnosed about 7 years ago, been on insulin since. I'm here because with my first diabetic and now Boo, I realized I relied too much on veterinarians and was not involved enough in his health. So I'm here with a ton of questions and hoping to be more involved in Boo's health!

Welcome! I love Boo's picture. I have a 15 year old non-diabetic calico, too. I am only two weeks into diabetes with my Mia and already struggling with sorting out what the vet tells me versus what I find in my own research. I guess it is just like with doctors for people, you have to educate yourself and watch out for your own. You cannot blindly trust anyone no matter what degree they have!

Welcome! The best way to take the reins is with home testing. If you have any specific questions write over on the main health forum where more eyes will notice it.
