good afternoon, or whatever time it is, where u r. can u tell me...for civvies, for the ones who wont eat wet, etc. is evo cat/kitten the right/best dry food? (besides young again) i read a post the other day where sum1, i think it was liz, used it as a rare treat or something? just making sure this is it. young again is evn higher so that is out. i understand wet is always recommended, but asking for the civs. i understand the diabetic can NOT have this. just looking for info. if u feed/ have fed this, plz let me know the absolute best deal on it online? how much did ur cat eat? etc.
this is what i think it is...yes? http://www.petflow.com/product/evo/evo- ... itten-food
thanks for the info. appreciate ur info/experience. have a good day.

Hi Pam and Larry!

I fed KT the EVO Cat/Kitten - he really liked it but the company was bought by P&G which changed something in it causing two huge recalls. I've not tried it since as I can't get it here. We did try the YA too but hardly anyone would eat it - the bag lasted 5 months. I do plan to get another small bag of the EVO and try again...I like to use it for 'sprinkles' when they aren't eating.

BIG HUGS!

ty for the kind reply! :) 2 recalls? :( do u think its safe? which bag lasted 5 months? the YA? bc they didnt eat it? or the evo? and what size and how many cats did it feed? thx! i am excited to figure something out.

Hi Pam, I currently sprinkle a few kibble of Evo on my civvies food and don't use it on Dusty's food because it would cause a slight uptick in his BC reading. It does also cause my civie to be more thirsty than normal and that's with just a sprinkling of kibble.

ok good. he looks like such a strong proud boy.
any idea why the food makes thm thirsty? is it bc its dry and they dont get water with it u mean? i like that idea of putting it on top. i have 1 cat that refuses wet. if i got rich tmrw she would still be a hard sell.my meezy has decided she loves wet and now she has to have a little every time larry does. ha

Yeah it's just the nature of dry food that makes them thirsty. When my civie Beni eats a little dry he drinks water but when I don't give him dry he won't touch the water. I just give it to him on his last meal of the evening so can make through the night without waking me up at midnight because he's hungry.

I tried the EVO but my cats couldn't go 100% on it. I had to mix it with 25% of their old dry food. When I tried 100% Hidey had bad tummy problems. I got mine at chewy.com http://www.chewy.com/cat/evo-turkey-chi ... n/dp/29085 its only a dollar cheaper than petflow but a dollar is a dollar and I LOVE chewys customer service.

I have since then switched to YA. I just started so right now they are on a mix of 75% YA and the 25% is a mix of blue buffalo and evo. I know its more expensive but honestly not by much. I found a coupon code online for $20 off so total with tax was $116.10 for a 25 lb bag. When I was buying the evo I was paying $45 for 15 lb bag so that comes out to $3.00 per lb of food with the YA its $4.64 and mine have been eating less.

There is also Stella and Chewey's freeze dried food. Meant to be dehydrated, but works as a treat, dry.
