Greeting from Canada!

My furry son Felix was just diagnosed with diabetes on Thursday. I am so glad I found this great community. Since then I have be reading non stop and although I'm super terrified and anxious, I've also been learning lots. I'm sure I will have plenty of question in the coming months. He starts insulin tomorrow;fingers crossed I don't loose it. :banghead:

Hello from Ontario.

Tell us more about Felix and post your questions/concerns in the Main Health Forum. Glad to see from your signature that you are planning to home test. That is essential to keeping Felix safe.

And Helen ask for advice here for dosing when you are using insulin because switching from dry to canned low carb changes the picture sometimes dramatically. It happened to us!

Welcome Helen and Felix - from Austin TX. I am attaching 72 degree weather with this posting to keep you warm.

Anxiety is normal with this. I didn't know a single thing about feline diabetes 2.5 years ago. And needles were sharp and scary. Now they are just part of the everyday health prescription for kitteh Leo!

This site is invaluable with both diabetes and cat health information. Feel free to post health questions on the main forum
