Heading to ER with other cat

my 15.5 year old started vomiting, won't eat, won't drink and straining in the litter box. He's had iris melanoma for the last couple years, opted to not do surgery because his lungs are comprimised. Doesn't look good, keep us in your thoughts.

Maybe its just a bad case of constipation that will require something very simple. A manul clean out or enima.

We're back, and you called it....constipated. Vet took a complimentary xray of his lungs, does have small tumors but nothing that's going to be a problem in the short term. Removed a 3 inch poo ball and gave an enema, he's got some more in there that needs to go and hopefully it will so he doesn't have to go back to the vet tomorrow. He has to be on a high fiber diet, so at least I found a use for that w/d crap! Fingers crossed, but hopefully all "goes" well and we get some more time with him.
 
Doesn't sound pleasant, but sounds better than some of the potential alternatives! As they say, "This too shall pass" - sometimes it just needs a little help. I can only imagine the look on his face when they did that. :o

Hopefully a full recovery in the next day will put him back to feeling good!

So glad that was all it was. I'm sure he is too!
 
That's good news! Glad everything is on the road to recovery.
This happened last month to Baxter. The vet did a manual clean out. Baxter screaming made me cry. I almost ripped the button off the cuff of my shirt that day. It was horrible on him & me. I think I'm scared for life over that deal.
I give Baxter 1/8tsp Miralax mixed with warm water in food everyday. I was doing it twice aday until recently. Let's just say it was to much...I do it once a day in his meal. You have to add water because the Miralax takes water from the body. So it's easy for a cat to get dehydrated. Dr.Pierson recommends Miralax. I was on a post once & she responded with the Miralax answer. It's help out other kitties too. Have you tried it before? Not for you.... :lol: for your kitties.
 
So happy to read it was rather a simple fix and not something worse! Poopy says, "Yea for Poop!" Silly kitty doesn't realize we're talking poo, not Poop. ohmygod_smile
 
So glad nothing major was wrong. I give miralax 1/4tsp to copper 2xday. It is really helpful and keeps him going great. Tried the 1.8tsp for awhile and had to lower. Good luck!
