First of all, knock on wood.
When I consulted over the phone with his doctor on Tuesday she asked me a ton of questions about him, based on the notes she had taken about his new asthma diagnosis and the xray I sent her from the other clinic. As soon as I told her he's been consistently in the 300-400 range for months and was recently skyrocketing up to the 500 and 600s she said to bump him to 2 units starting that night. I was nervous, but I did and combined with the increase of Lantus and a puff of Albuterol, this cat has been more awake than I've seen him the entire month of May. It's been weeks and weeks since he has had a yellow number, much less two in the same day. Hoping they aren't flukes, but want everyone who was concerned about Diego to know that, at least today, he is feeling much better. She is really pushing towards eliminating the triggers, alleviating his symptoms and aiming towards a life for him that doesn't require daily medication at all if we can help it. She suggested an omega 3 supplementation to knock down the inflammation in his lungs--does krill oil work?
We've also started on chick feed crumbles as a cheap cat litter alternative. It has no dust and clumps great. Waiting on the Breeze system to arrive on Friday.
