I've taken Smoky to a few vets in my area ( Bucks county) Northeastern PA. Does anyone near here have any suggestions for a good vet? I have one more I can try but a friend at work says they can be a little high priced at times.
The vet I had been going to for years said they can't treat him with all his complex conditions.
He appears to have insulin resistance, pancreatitis, IBD, and triaditis. He also has food allergies, regular allergies and urinary issues. The vet at cat clinic is not willing to discuss different treatment options and doesn't want to give any meds for pain. I had to bug her just to get Cerenia to try for him for nausea.

Do you have local Facebook pages for your town? That's how a lot of people get recommendations?
How about your er? Do they have suggestions?

Are you on the ibdkittie page?

That's how I managed my cats ibd.

It's about 45 drive in traffic. what is the name of the practice?
It's the Doylestown Animal Medical Center ( DAMC) All the docs and staff are super nice and I don't find them anymore expensive than a practice I was at for 30 + years in Sellersville. Might be worth a call to see if they can help Smokey with all his conditions. 215-345-7782 They aren't as knowledgeable with FD as the peeps here are but then again my last practice wasn't either. Luckily, we have the forum. ;)

From Canada. Our vet doesn't declaw, bob ears or cut off perfectly good tails. In some places in Canada it's illegal to bob ears and tails! Stay away from "Country Vets" (euthanasia is out back with a .22) and don't be fooled by fancy smocks. Our vet's father was a vet and she came in on a Sunday morning to have our Border Collie put down. If there's "Financial Options" in the waiting room, I'd leave. Guess we just got lucky. When we had our eighth cat die she sent us flowers!

Our vets knew how deep a bond I have with Saoirse and how devastated I was. First thing the following day a bouquet was delivered to my home from our vets to say how very sad they were. It meant a great deal to me that they showed such thoughtfulness and caring.
