We are fortunate enough to be on good terms with two separate vets. Some staff can be nasty about your loyalty and drag their feet when or if you need files transferred.
Our primary vet cannot board animals but will take Noah only because we've known them forever but they're bending over backwards to do it. Our #2 vet is set up for boarding, no grief, no guilt.
If you can stay on good terms with another vet even by popping in every two months for six cans of food and talk about the weather it can't hurt. In our case this directly affects Feline Health.
For Noah a "stranger" in the house or the doorbell ringing means he's behind the furnace for an hour. He has to be boarded.
Next month I need to board him for a trip I can no longer put off and I'm dreading it.
