Gremlin is vomiting constantly tonight :( No food left to come up, only saliva and stomach fluid. (Aside from that, Grem is doing exceedingly well.)

After coming home to find Buster had gorged on food I left out this morning and vomited into the cat's water fountain for me to find. And clean.

Buster and Rufie now refuse to eat Whiskas food. Luna won't eat her usual usual dry food, only the diabetic dry food given to me. Luna tried some mince and vomited.

I'm broke and just can't afford all this money for diabetic supplies and premium cat food. Let alone spending to figure out what they'll actually eat! Christmas is coming. I'm too busy this week with work to be home all the time to check on Gremlin. I just don't know what to do anymore! I'm so tired...

Sorry, rant over.

Well Gremlin like Whiskas still... Aaaahhhhhhh! He won't eat his own damn food tonight but he's happy to eat the **** that will cause his blood sugar to spike. I've had a gut full tonight. I can't do this. Stupid cats all on different food and not allowed to eat each other's but won't eat their damned own. I love my babies to bits but I could sure use a holiday... Which I can't ever have cause I have a diabetic cat that no one else can look after! I can't even go out for a nice dinner. I don't think I have it in me to clean up any more vomit tonight. Or test Gremlin. Think it's time I went to bed and cried myself to sleep.

So sorry you had such a bad night. I just wanted you to know that you're not alone, and I hope things get better for you today. Please feel free to rant whenever you feel the need, we all have.

I'm so sorry, Laura. I wish that I had some magic that would help. It's not a rant, it's your life (only for the moment!) and it is important to let others share the load with you.

We are going through almost the same thing with our 6 (5 civvies, 1 sugar)and it is incredibly frustrating.

Although I am still struggling to get Whisper's BG under control, I have to say that food issues are far more stressful than dealing with diabetes. So all I can say is that I understand, and here's to hoping that all the kids start to get with the program so that we can relax a little bit!

Big hugs to all -- both two-legged and four-legged.

Hi Laura, so sorry to hear that you're having feeding troubles. I have the same problems in my house, nobody wants to eat their own food, they all think someone else's looks better. :arghh: I have four babies and now I separate them at feeding time; the two worst offenders (and the ones who MUST eat their own, special diet) come with me to my room and I guard their dishes from each other until mealtime is over.

It's okay to have to rant, we all understand! We've been there, too! :bighug::bighug:

ARRGH the food wars! I get it!
Pimp gets K+ mixed in his food...which could be "not good" for his brother. I have to watch them at mealtimes and constantly move bowls back in front of the appropriate kitty, as each wants to eat the other's.
I've been on that "I can't do this anymore" boat a few times....just hold on and wait to reach the shore, lol.
Sending calming vines and hugs!

Sorry for your bad night. We've all been there at some point and will be there again. Because of my work schedule this week and my husband and of course Smokey I will be alone for thanksgiving. On top of that my father will be alone and it's the first holiday since my mom's passing. Hopefully talking to him on the phone will help.

Try some cooked chicken breast. Maybe she will eat that.

Lol, I just had to call my vet on Saturday because my IBD baby got into my sugar kitty's food - which also had potassium gluconate in it! Fortunately, he said it wouldn't hurt her to have eaten it!

Same here -- DH is going to do the family duty with his parents on Thanksgiving so I'll be here holding down the fort (condo?) since we don't yet have a qualified cat sitter. I am actually looking forward to a quiet day alone ;) But I am sure that it is hard to know that your dad is probably going to have a tough time. I'm sorry, and I hope you guys have a good talk.

Best,
Sandi.

Oh my goodness! Thank you so much everyone for your kind words and support! Brought me to tears! I'm feeling much better this morning and so is Gremlin, thankfully. Took a couple of goes putting him back in front of his bowl but he did eventually eat, yay! Now my little Rufie girl seems to have lost her appetite. She has cancer though so it's probably to be expected at some stage.

I was amazed to hear so many others are having feeding issues, it's nice to know I'm not alone! I sure hope we can all sort them out sooner rather than later!

I'm so sorry to hear that :( That is definitely difficult. I truly hope you and your father can still enjoy Thanksgiving.

I'm a single mum and my son still goes to his dad every week so I'm alone a fair bit. I don't have anyone to help me. But I'm managing most of the time.

With regard to diabetic supplies, I think there's an organization that helps with costs (or supplies) if they get to be too much. Someone on this forum is involved with it, I think. I'll try to find it.
I'm in Australia so it may not be helpful :) Thank you though, I appreciate you thinking of it.

Thanks again to everyone who replied! You made the start of this day just a bit better than it was :bighug:
