Have you ever just stopped giving your kitty juice to see what happens with their numbers? Is this a bad idea?

i sure did. but only because my kitty had dropped really low one day so i decided to stop and see how she did without it. good plan too, as she went into remission.

i think one thing to look for when going off the insulin (well in my kitties case anyway, im no expert) is seeing the numbers go down after eating. if they do, this mean the pancreas is starting to do some or all of the work on its own again. if the kitty is still diabetic, the BG will go up after food and stay up

Just took a look at your SS and I can see why you would want to try that.
As long as you have smokey on a low carb diet...I would do it.
Bad bg's are up over 2 and 300. You would'nt want to let those just ride.

Also if you are going to do it make sure you are checking for ketones. Anything above a trace is time to pull out the insulin asap.
