I've been looking for a good non-petroleum based hairball remedy for a diabetic. I've read that some homemade raw foodies use egg-yolk lecithin (1/2 cap several times a week up to 1/2 cap a day)

There are 2 brands, Swanson's & Nature's Plus. Nature's Plus contains dicalcium phosphate, which can cause some gastrointestinal issues. http://www.vitacost.com/natures-plus-egg-yolk-lecithin
The Swanson's has rice flour:

I'm leaning toward the Swanson's, even though it has rice flour - a small amount like that shouldn't affect bg would it?

Has anyone tried this? If so, did it work for you?

Haven't tried it.

Since lecithin is naturally ocurring in eggs, it may be safe to do a trial.

Note you observations for several days before, several days during the trial, and several days afterwards. This is called a repeated measures, single subject design (those research geeks have a name for everything!). If an effect is observed with the intervention and goes away when the intervention is removed, it increases the chances that the intervention caused the observed result. If you find that repeating the intervention always has the intended outcome, you've found something that works ... come back and share!

Yes, please share your results if you decide to give the lecithin a try. One of my civies might benefit from this.

Will do. Just need to obsess some more between the lesser evils of rice flour product or di-calcium phosphate product. Why, Why WHY do they have to add all the junk into these products grr_red
