Alex wanted to share his 16th birthday with all his FD friends and family that helped him to reach this birthday. It is a bittersweet day for us.Jackson should be here with us...but he isn't. Alex has gone through a lot this year. He lost his brother, best friend, litter mate and partner in crime in November. With his heart issues and his neuropathy and diabetes and age, I didn't know that he would survive the grief (or that I would for that matter). But we helped each other through and here he is on his 16th birthday a little worn for wear but still my beautiful and courageous boy who I love more than ever.

Alex has taught me what it means to deal with adversity graciously and heroically and not to give up. He is more than my fur baby and my best friend. He is my hero. Alex may never get OTJ but hey, who says he doesn't deserve a video anyhow?

HAPPY SWEET 16 ALEX!!!! You've turned into the handsomest boy I've eve seen. Happy Birthday Sweet 16!!!! (And Happy Birthday to my Leany Bean also..I KNOW in my heart you are here with us and we love you so very much xoxo)

Happy Happy Birthday Alex! I love the video! How awesome you get a beautiful video for your big day? I know you have been through a lot and know the grief and pain all too well. Big hugs to you two! Enjoy the day getting spoiled rotten Alex (no different than any other day, hahaha). Take care Caryl. You have done a wonderful job with your boy! Let's party!

For those of you who wished my boy a Happy Birthday, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Alex had a good day and I am just so thrilled that he was here to celebrate his 16th birthday..largely due to the support we received from our family here on the FDMB.

We love and thank you all.

Caryl, Alex and Jackson too. (Yes Jackson was here. I actually felt him for the first time).
