Yo cats and kittens of all ages

Trick or treat! This is the night of the year when the veil between us and our precious GAs is thinnest and we can see and hear them even better than we do at the full moons. Because we live in the moment, this is a very, very happy night for us, and it is worth the extra tinge of loneliness we will feel tomorrow.

We will feast on goodies crafted by my mentors, Chef Rusty, Chef Felix and the kitchen krews of yore at Halloweens past:

Appetizers: Witches' Micro Brews; Double-trouble Niptinis; Green Grog; Deviled Black Duck Eggs; Mousefoot Salsa on Nip Crackers; Bubbling Cauldron Cheese Dip; Mouse Mousse; Paw Prints Special Halloween Pizzas; Bog Clams Steamed in the Cauldron.

Entrees: Brunswick Stew; Baked Rats in Puff Pastry; Howling Buffalo Wings; Ghoulish Goulash; Turkey Pumpkin Casserole; Crunchy Tarantula Tacos; Eyes of Newt.

Salad: Tossed Witches' Broom.

Desserts: Cimmamum Cobweb Cookies; Jack-o'-Lantern Cake; Black Cheesecakes; Pumpkin Bars.

Newer traditions include Bubba's MouseMousse; Leo's Chunky Tuna and Salmon Ice Cream with Sardine Sprinkles; Olive's Shoelaceghetti with a side of pickles; TinySolé's sister Cookie's cod brownies filled with catnip; PussCatDusty's crispy birds feet served on baked catnip wafers (mmmmm, crunchy!) as well as her sweet and sour skink tail vol-au-vents & freeze dried plain yoghurt balls; Chef Felix's Mediterranean platter with crunchy falafel, catmint mewli-tabouli, and smoked papurrika hummouse; Chieflet Luna's Longtail Surprise à la Rosa and Regan. You’ll find Bella’s catinis at the Bella Memorial Tiki Hut.

Of course, with the veil being thin all night tonight, we do not have to wait for midnight to see our precious GAs. They will be pawtying alongside us all night long – and tonight we will be able to see them all night. The Taster Blankets, including Olive’s memorial blanket, will be set up to give any kitties not feeling up to pawtying a great view of our friends and loved ones at the Bridge. Roxi will be your kitchen liaison as usual, so let her know how the food is and if there’s anything you want to try.

“Ruby and the Kittens” are ready to entertain you and help you dance the night away. They’ve been working hard on their spooky moves for the occasion. Come and join them on the dance floor and show them your spooky moves too! The “Halloween Cat” move is one of their favorites, and they say they want to see everyone’s best attempt at it, sideways bouncing while not losing the arched back pose is worth extra points of course!

DJ Molly will be playing all your favorite tunes. She’s taking requests, so let her know what you want to hear.

We’re having lots of fun already in the kitchen getting everything ready for you all. Head on over as early as you can to get this pawty started! We have fun new aprons too, just for Halloween – check them out!

Chef Luna

Yo Chef Luna. You look great in that special apron and the fuds are terrific. I’m on my third double-trouble Niptini. Lookin forward to dancin’ the “Haunted House Two Step” with all those beautifully costumed lady kitties. Let’s party!!

Gus (civvie) looking to learn some new dance steps from my predecessors Stu and Rusty. I’ll be disguised as a Black Cat. Ha! ha!

Great party! Biggie really enjoyed the Baked Rats in Puff Pastry and he appreciated that it was diabetic friendly. It’s so hard to find good diabetic food at parties- especially for cats. He’s so used to those high carb temptation treats that he can’t eat b/c of his DM and because of his food allergies. But the baked rats were really up his alley!

DJ Molly, we would love to hear Love Cats by the Cure. And maybe What’s New Pussycat? And of course one of our favorites is the Stray Cat Strut!

My kitties have been so excited all day about the Halloween Party. How I wish we could all see our GA loved ones through the veil.

My three-legged foster cat has discovered his theme song, and he would like DJ Molly to play it for him.
