half unit syringes

So I've been looking for a good steady dose for Ben to get while he is boarding. Seems like 1.6 U is too much and 1.4 U is too little. So I'm thinking of trying 1.5 U. The U-40 syringes I got from the vet only have whole unit markings. Was looking at ADW for U-40 half-unit syringes. Do these look like they would work?

They look right, Lisa.

Another thing you could try is a sliding scale. So give 1.4 on a yellow preshot and 1.6 on a pink. Although the 1.4 on 3/15 pmps took him into nice numbers. Overall, I think he is looking pretty good, trending downward.

I will use a sliding scale at home. This is just an experiment for boarding. My choices for boarding him are limited here. It's a really small town. I tried a sliding scale for him last time and the vet over-rode it and gave some crazy doses. (like 3 U of prozinc on top of 2 units of humulin R for a 400 pre-shoot). I rather just have them give the same amount everyday.

But I have to admit that I kind of like being able to draw up his dose first before we head into the bathroom for testing and feeding.
