Well I figured she would have skyrocketed with no insulin but she didn't. Guess due to lack of food. Vet opens at 10. I'll ask her to test for pancreatitis. Poor girl wants to be alone which is so unlike her.
 
I saw you are reading up and got some personal stories about pancreatitis. Be sure the vet gives the test suggested on the primer. To answer your question on Health, it seems most cats do well with a pain med (if they feel lousy, they don't want to eat) and sometimes syringe feeding or fluids. But no, it doesn't mean it's that way forever. Pancreatitis seems to come and go. Sometimes there is not a flare up for months and months.

Maybe start a new thread on Health. "Does your cat have Pancreatitis? Tell me what it's like." or something. I think you would be reassured. Or pm the people who replied - i think Terri did? - and ask her what it's like for her.
 
Thanks Sue. I started the thread. Let's hope the vet finds out what is going on. Some answers would be great.
 
You might call your vet before going and tell him you have been researching on pancreatitis and ask if he is willing to read some materials and give her the specific test mentioned. If he is still insisting it can't be pancreatitis and he has no other ideas, then you won't waste your time. Would you have any other options?
 
Vet said she is extremely weak and having muscle twitches. Doing a CBC and urinalysis. Also pancreatitis test (I insisted) and x rays because her abdomen is jelly feeling. Going to call me later with results though pancreatitis has to be sent off so won't know today. We'll see.
 
If her electrolytes are out of whack, that can cause weakness and twitching.

So glad Gypsy is getting checked out by the vet. I hope they get to the bottom of why she is so miserable and not eating.
