I'm currently waiting on my mom to get here to take Alphie and i to the vet since I can't drive.
Alphie has been drinking a lot the past few days and he just peed himself while sleeping. I remember this happening when he had ketoacidosis.
Of course this happens on a weekend. So if he needs to stay overnight somewhere, it'll have to be at the emergency vet, which I can't afford.
I just want him to be okay. I can't lose my baby. I'm so scared.

Also, his appetite was normal when he ate breakfast. He woke me up as usual to feed him. When he had ketoacidosis in January, he didn't eat.

Sending prayers and healing vines for Alphie. If you need financial help, HERE are some links for you to check out. If you want to contact DCIN (Diabetic Cats In Need) our contact person here is Chris and China. Please keep us posted!

They're too nauseated to eat with DKA so that's a really good sign.

HUGS and hugs and hugs...

He also seems like he has energy. I pulled some of his boiled chicken out for a treat for me pricking his ear (I didn't actually get a reading though, because he kept moving and it didn't bleed at all) and he got super excited. So I hope I'm just being paranoid

Thank you so much! I'll definitely check those out while Alphie's back with his doctor!

I agree with Squalliesmom. With all the energy and the urge to eat the glucose levels could have dropped into low ranges. Even if it is difficult getting a test would be a good idea. Sometimes we just have to "fight" our kitties to keep them safe. :bighug::bighug:

If you are using 31 gauge lancets, switch to 28 gauge... They are thicker and more likely to get a sample. Also don't be afraid to poke all the way through.
